Look, I know I’m asking for you to get invested in a trilogy when it comes to the Meditators series, so I want to leave a roadmap for new readers so you feel more at ease settling in with things. First off, all 3 books have been written. I’m talking 80,000-100,000 words of content per book. I’ve been working on the Meditators since 2010 (2006 if you count my first flirt with the type of content). When I had the first novel “finished” (around 2016), I didn’t want to seek traditional publishing unless I had a working model of all three books. And so, I got to work and “finished” the trilogy in early 2020. But of course, you get better at writing the more you do it, so now I had to re-edit the first book. After gaining no traction querying (to be fair, I sent out like, three of them), I wrote Sophie Against the Inevitable. Naturally, I got better at writing again, and this led to a new rewrite of Book 1. Long story short, I’ve gone through about 30 drafts of Book 1. One day, I will post every single draft I can find so you can share in my journey.
I say all this to let you know about my process for the next two books in the series. I will need to go back and re-edit Book 2. I expect this process to last me the rest of the year, and I’d really like to publish it by December 31, 2026. My day job might delay things, but this is my goal. I usually only miss my goals by a few months, so we’ll see. That means Book 3 will be my project of 2027, and I aim to publish that by the end of 2027.
My next trilogy is already in the works as well, this one aimed toward older adults looking to navigate a world that promised us everything before delivering generational debt. This new original universe will feature three cozy novels, all in early development. At a rate of once-per-year, I aim to have this trilogy released in 2028, 2029, and 2030.
And then, I’ll be returning to the Meditators Universe to work on a long-form action-adventure. In my head, this is a 4-book epic the likes of The Name of the Wind. This content will be shared with platforms like The Royal Road and will will occupy my time from 2031-2035. All of this will culminate with a separate 2-book crossover event that will close out the main story of the Meditators Universe. Due 2036-2038.
In the background, I will be doing short stories and retellings of famous philosophical works. I’ll be starting with Plato and reworking his stories into a more contemporary form. If you’re a philosophy fan, this one is for you.
As daunting as it is to face down an 12 year plan, I wouldn’t have it any other way. Doing the math, you can expect about 1 long-form update and maybe 4 short-form updates each year. That means that, for the vast majority of time, this site will see absolutely nothing in terms of content. BUT! At the end of this road map, I’ll have 12 books free for your viewing. Thanks for your patience.
If you’d like to contribute to my success, please join the Patreon for a monthly donation (www.patreon.com/adammandias), or Buy Me A Coffee for a one-time donation (www.buymeacoffee.com/adammandias). I’m a teacher at heart, so even if I make enough to do so, I don’t expect I’ll want to leave my job at all to pursue writing full-time. But your donation will be used for things like editors, or maybe food delivery—but only when I’m neck-deep in a writing session. My promise is that I will spend your money in support of the project.
